LAMBDA CORE - Stuck here?

You actually can get past the ceiling collapse, there’s enough room to move through it. The battery inside should help guide you through.

You’re kidding me… Hahahaha
I’ll try it later, thanks !

Beat it, thanks to you
Can’t wait for the final part, can we expect it this year :stuck_out_tongue: ?

Glad I could help!

I have no idea when, if at all, Xen is scheduled to be released.

Bollocks. I know I’m right at the end of the game and yet I’m stuck. I was following the rotating tower with teleports when I finally got into tele nr 7 and it threw me into room with rotating platforms:

Can’t find a way out of this torture room. Help pls.

EDIT:
LOL. I’ve been trying this for the last 30 min and just when I’ve posted above I found the way out. I could swear I’ve tried to press that button couple of times before. Anyway - great, great game. I would gladly pay for it.

I went to the ledge to the door with red color, but i still doesn’t open for me :frowning:

There is a green button on each side of the room. You must jump over to both of them and press them. Then the door to the middle teleporter will open.

No, it will come out sometime next year.
And about the roof collapsing, I had the same problem when I played Blue Shift the first time in the cave that collapses because of the Vort, since I played HL2 before Blue Shift, I was used to roof collapses meant “go the other way”, so I was stuck there for ages.

that door isnt open for me :S
its red still and wont open

The light above the door doesn’t mean anything. The little light /on/ the door, where the handle would be on a regular door, should be green, and it should open when you walk up to it. If it doesn’t, you’ve got a bug. Load an earlier save.

Help! :stuck_out_tongue:
I’m in the core, I been through both the rooms and opened and flooded the areas and done the room oposite the security office also. All lights are green on all boards. The scientist has told me to open some valves to flood the 2 cores. I’ve been searching for well over an hour and been up and down every lift in every room but cant find how to progress :frowning:
In the middle there is a lift before the split to the 2 other roosm I’ve already been in and I’ve looked in the water and at the top of the lift but I cant see anything that needs activating, help!

Scientist (You’ll have to open the emergency draining caps for each cooling tank)

Go to the room opposite the one with the scientist and guard. Jump in the water and swim to the core. You should be able to do this if you’ve flooded both tanks.

Ok… so I’m at the end of Lambda Core where I have to make my way to the top of the reactor by jumping off the moving platforms and through the series of teleporters.

However, I find myself dying sometimes for no apparent reason. I’ll be on one of the moving platforms when I’ll suddenly hear that “crunch” noise as if I just fell from a far height, and I’m suddenly looking at the reload screen. This happens to me while just standing on one of the platforms, and I’m positive there was no type of collision, and nothing touched me.

Has anyone else had this happen to them?

I think the concept was that the platforms were pushing you into things, which in turn pushed you off of the platforms, killing you.

It was, however, executed rather poorly and should be fixed.

It depends. Are you on the central ring that moves up and down? If you are, the central ring rises up to the ceiling which has spokes which are lower than other places which can crush you. You need to crouch on the central ring between the lower parts of the ceiling when the ring is at its highest.

Or maybe you’re on the rotating “magnet” platforms. There are “walls” so that you can’t just ride the ‘magnet platforms’ around indefinitely waiting for a good jump angle. If you smash into these walls, you’ll be crushed (my belief is that your feet get caught by the walls (outer rings) and pipes (inner ring) and it pulls you down against the walls/pipes, essentially filleting you (perhaps the magnetic platforms attract the HEV suit boots at those points so that you can’t just get pushed off), but perhaps I’m BS-rationalizing it).

Or it could simply be called source’s wonky collision damage

Well, yes, but I’m rationalizing an in-universe reason for it happening.

There is a huge room that goes upwards where you must teleport from place to place but I don’t know which ones to go through and it is very confusing.:’(

Go down the elevator in the corridor. Look for clues smeared in blood.

Plus, most of the “wrong” portals take you to interesting loot caches, so it’s not like you can’t just explore.

Except one, which can be fatal. :fffuuu:
